When do I need an application for an ethical vote?
If you are planning human research (clinical studies, biomedical research) as part of your doctorate, you need a positive vote on ethics before starting your project. You apply for this to the ethics committee of the medical faculty. If you are unsure whether an ethics vote is required, please ask directly there.
When do I have to submit an ethics application?
The vote of the ethics committee must be presented when registering for the doctoral thesis.
Attention: The ethics committee does not vote retrospectively! Dissertations that require an ethics vote and do not have it cannot be accepted.
