Who can get the scholarship for doctoral students by the Medical Faculty of the LMU?
Upon request, the scholarship for doctoral students by the Medical Faculty of the LMU will be awarded to all doctoral students of the Faculty of Medicine at the LMU who successfully registered their doctoral project to acquire the Dr. med. or Dr. med. dent. in accordance with the doctoral regulations for human and dental medicine, human biology dated September 27, 2018 and have not yet passed their second state examination. While receiving the scholarship, the doctoral candidate must be enrolled at the LMU, exceptions must be requested from the doctoral office.
When can I start receiving the doctoral scholarship?
The doctoral scholarship can be applied for as soon as the signed target agreement is available, but must be applied for at least 2 months before the start of full-time research.
Payments start monthly within 2 to 3 months after receipt of the application.

What do I have to consider when applying for a doctoral scholarship?
While receiving the doctoral scholarship, the doctoral candidate must concentrate in full-time on the respective research project. It follows that secondary employment is only permitted to a very limited extent, if at all. In terms of content, this employment relationship must be clearly distinguished from the research project and be reported in the doctoral office.
It is the recipient’s responsibility to inform other funding agencies about the scholarship.
