Here you will find information on various funding opportunities at LMU, the Medical Faculty and from various foundations. A somewhat more comprehensive selection can be found here.

Please note that we can only show a small selection of all possible funding opportunities here. In addition to the programs listed here, there are often numerous other funding opportunities depending on your research topic or your specific personal circumstances.

    The Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) awards MD fellowships to outstanding medical students who are prepared to interrupt their studies for at least 10 months and change institution and city to conduct an experimental research project in basic biomedical research. more

  • Care-for-Rare Science Award

    The Care-for-Rare Science Award with 50.000 Euros, sponsored by the Werner Reichenberger Foundation, should give scientists the chance to initiate a basic or clinical research project in the field of rare diseases. more

    The Faculty of Medicine of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and the Research Foundation for Medicine at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen award the Cord Michael Becker- Prize for the eighth time. The award distinguishes a Doctoral Thesis of Graduates in Molecular Medicine. more

  • Junges Kolleg der Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften

    The "Junge Kolleg" is a forum in which members establish and consolidate independent research achievements. It offers outstanding young scientists from Bavaria free space outside the universities to implement creative and innovative questions. For the entire funding period, they belong to the community of scholars, exchange ideas with each other and with Academy members, and pursue their interdisciplinary research projects. more

    With the LMUexcellent the university supports scientists with the acquisition of external third-party funds. From the first project of a doctoral student who goes to a congress abroad to collaborative research projects that bring in high third-party funding. more
