Submission of the Thesis

Submitting your dissertation in the Campus Portal

• Fill out the form "Application for admission to the doctoral examination (Dr. rer. nat.)" in the Campus portal and enter the final title of your thesis, then save!
• You can now download all pre-filled forms from your Campus Portal account. 
• Use either the German or the English version of the forms.

Please upload the following documents to the Campus Portal:

1. Electronic version of the dissertation (PDF format, max. 10 Mb, how to reduce file size).
2. Confirmation of your co-authors (only required if submitting a cumulative dissertation). Please download the forms from your Campus Portal account, have them signed and upload them again.
3. Proof of at least two years of work under the supervision of a habilitated supervisor who holds a doctorate in the natural sciences. Please download the form from your Campus Portal account, sign it and upload it again.
4. Form "Münchener Universitätsgesellschaft“, please download the form from your Campus Portal account.
5. Declaration for external studies, if applicable
6. Statement on the result of the iThenticate analysis signed by your supervisor
7. If applicable, consent of the consent of institution´s director (only if the data were collected at an external institution)

Please submit the following original documents:

1. Application for admission to the doctoral examination (Dr. rer. nat.) Please download the form from your Campus Portal account.
2. Printed version of the dissertation (one copy) DIN A 4, bound (adhesive binding, no ring binding!) in German or English including a German and English summary
3. The following documents must be included in the dissertation (printed and electronic version):
1. Affidavit with signature. Please download the form from your Campus Portal account.
2. Declaration of congruency of the printed and electronic version (PDF format) of the dissertation with signature. Please download the form from your Campus Portal account.
3. Curriculum vitae with signature.
4. List of publications
4. Supervision agreement with original signatures (usually already deposited in the doctoral office after acceptance as an applicant)
5. Consent of the institution´s director if the data were collected at an external institution.

After confirming with your supervisor, you have the opportunity to make suggestions for suitable evaluators and experts. The doctoral committee can take those suggestions into account when selecting the reviewers.

 

Thesis submissions by post:

or drop it of in the mailbox at the Dean's Office, to the right of the entrance at the garden gate. Please divide your documents into several envelopes if one envelope is too bulky for a regular mailbox slot.

• mandatory: Title page for your dissertation for all candidates who did their research at the LMU Klinikum or at an institute of the Medical Faculty
• mandatory: Title page for your dissertation for all candidates who did their research at an institute outside the LMU Klinikum or the Medical Faculty (e.g. at an MPI or Helmholtz institute or at the TU Munich)
• optional: style template for monographic dissertations (Dr. rer. nat.)
• optional: style template for cumulative dissertations (Dr. rer. nat.)
