Acceptance as a Doctoral Candidate
Before starting the doctoral project, the application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate must be completed in the Campus Portal.
Please upload the following documents to the Campus Portal:
- Certificate of eligibility from a faculty of natural sciences at LMU
- Proof that you have passed the preliminary examination (if a preliminary examination is required, this is noted on your confirmation of doctoral studies)
- University degree: Proof of your successful final examination in any of the natural sciences (mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, chemistry, pharmacy, biology, geosciences or similar)
- Certificate of good conduct (Führungszeugnis, not older than 3 months)
- Curriculum vitae signed by you
- Please enter your (old) LMU matriculation number (if available)
Please send the following documents by post to the doctoral office:
- Application for Admission as a Dr. rer. nat. candidate: application form
- Supervision agreement
- Certified copy of your university degree (certified copies only, no originals, we do not return documents)
- Certificate of eligibility from a natural sciences faculty of the LMU (original)
- Certificate of good conduct (original - not older than 3 months)
- APS certificate (only required for degrees from China, India and Vietnam)

The doctoral committee decides who is accepted as an applicant.
The supervision agreement:
- fill in and specify your research area and subject
- date
- sign
- send it by post to the Doctoral Office (Doctoral Office, Dean's Office, Bavariaring 19, 80336 Munich).
